How to Saber a Champagne Bottle

| January 15, 2012 | 0 Comments

Sabering Champagne 300x234Sabering is a fun little trick that, for some reason, a lot of people don’t know about. Make sure to saber a Champagne bottle on New Year’s eve and you’ll never go another year without a New Year’s kiss.

Below you can find two videos that show you how to saber. Traditionally there is a knife that you are supposed to use, but as a broke college student you can use any old kitchen knife (preferably like the ones in the video).

When sabering you should exercise extreme caution both with the knife and the champagne itself. If you do not experience a clean saber chances are that their will be shards of glass on the ground, or worse, in the champagne. Drink responsibly.
