The 2012 End of the World Party uses name tags just like the Famous Couples Party. The goal of the 2012 End of the World party is to get people to do things that they normally wouldn’t under the pretense that the world is DEFINITELY ending. 

IMPLEMENTATION

When you send out your invitations tell people to think of something they want to have done by the end of their life. As guests begin to come to your house stand outside with a big pile of name tags and a felt tip pen. Before guests are allowed into the house have them write their name on the tag along with the thing they want to have done before they die. 

KEYS TO SUCCESS

Make sure it is abundantly clear that to get into the party, people need to embrace the imminent end of the world.

This can be done by kicking off the night with a group toast to the end of the world, you need to get people psyched and ready to make the kind of decisions and acceptances that they only could if it were truly the end of the world.

Demonstrate the mentality.

For guys, this might mean going up to a girl you wouldn’t normally have the confidence to talk to, and getting her to dance with you, or even just telling her she’s beautiful.  

For girls, this will mean actually accepting dudes that try to dance with you or talk to you, OR even better, pick out a guy you like and approach them!  Tell them exactly what your intentions are….there are no secrets on the last day alive.

Ultimately, the night is about making the types of decisions you would ordinarily regret the next day, but with a large group of people that all have an understanding not to take anything seriously, and to immediately discount any regrettable acts the next day.  Kind of like a fresh-start.

DRINKS

 Frankly, there is only one official drink of the apocalypse, and I think we all know what that is….Tequila.  And not good tequila.  Rip-roaring, ass-tearing, belly-rustling, death-water  Tequila.  Repeat after me: “To nooo tomorrow….To nooooo Hangovers!!!”  

Until, you know, tomorrow.

MUSIC

The best music for the Apocalypse is dubstep.  Eerie, hectic, inexplicable dubstep.  This music works well because it enhances the frantic feeling like you need to do as much as possible as quickly as possible.  Have fun!
