Streamer Party

Streamer Party
THEME DESCRIPTION
Picture yourself floating through a bunch of crazy looking swaying corral reefs that are phosphorescing in the dark depths of the ocean. That is the kind of scene you are trying to recreate with a streamer party. Believe it or not, plain white party streamers glow brilliantly-blue under black-light, and can add so much to your party atmosphere that they are worth mentioning as a theme in and of themselves.
IMPLEMENTATION
Take several rolls of streamers and cut strips of consistent or varying lengths. Tape them so that they hang from the ceiling, and are no more than 6 inches apart. Cover your entire ceiling. NOTE: Make sure to use painter’s tape and not scotch or duct. Ceiling paint tends to be delicate and easily pulled off, THUS painter’s tape is a must.
Different lengths achieve different things, but a good rule of them is that the streamers should end about six inches above the top of people’s heads. This way people can reach up and feel them, but aren’t too tempted to pull them down.
KEY TO SUCCESS
Fans. That is all. Lots and lots of fans.
You want as much airflow to be directed up and through the streamers as possible so that they sway, move , and basically contribute dynamism to the room. PLUS, there is the lovely perk that your party will stay cool so that people don’t overheat while dancing.
DRINKS
You simply have to have drinks made with TONIC WATER. You need to pursue the theme of crazy glowing shit as much as possible with this theme, so why not serve up drinks that glow? Check out our favorite custom recipe: Aurora
MUSIC
You definitely want to go with trance, electro, or house. Just seems right. Click the links to check out TCC’s “Off the Record,” for some baller music suggestions in those categories.
PAIRING
Any theme that utilizes black-lighting is ideal for pairing with this theme. Number one would probably be a highlighter graffiti party though!
