I'm Alexa and I'm a journalism major at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. I know more about popular culture than any one person should; I'm really just trying to be the Chuck Klosterman of my generation. I don't believe in not working hard, ignorance, or taking things in life too seriously. And in case you were wondering I live my life by two small, Italian words: Scrivo, vivo. I write, I live.
As a Comparative Literature concentrator at Brown, I am passionate about literature and language, particularly French and Italian. I also love to travel and immerse myself in the cultures of those languages, especially because they both share such great food! (My favorite food happens to be ice cream - best flavor I have had is milk chocolate at a local place near my town.) One of my goals is to live in a foreign country and write about my experience there, hopefully in a way that can positively impact other travelers as well.
I am a senior at Purdue University. I will be graduating in May with a Bachelor of Arts in English. My life is filled with good friends, family, and wonderful experiences. My favorite things to do are hang out with my friends and watch movies or go out and have a fun night. I love to dance, sing, and have a good time with the people who are important to me. My main goal from college is to graduate with a concrete idea of what I want to do and a strong ability to create lasting relationships with friends and colleagues.
I'm a sophomore journalism student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I'm learning the ropes and it's pretty exciting exploring all the venues in which I can get my work exposed. I'm a writer in the Arts and Living section at the Daily Collegian and have recently started shooting photographs for the photography section.
Brian is a soon to be senior at the University of Minnesota who's growing terrified of the impending termination of his college career. He's an aspiring journalist who spends his free time taking fantasy sports way too seriously, eating really spicy food and avoiding awkward small talk with people he only sort of knows. Brian's been mistaken for a Canadian countless times, but has never played hockey and doesn't even like maple syrup. He does say "eh" sometimes when he drinks though. Follow him on twitter @BrianArola

My favorite ice cream is Coldstone's Cake Batter, I'm an Economics major, and one of my main college goals is to get a club I'm co-founding, Global Awareness and Social Justice, which focuses on the meeting of microfinance and fashion, off and running.
An avid bookworm since childhood, my college years have allowed me to discover that, much to my delight, I can use my investment in fandom, pop culture, and books of all kinds to earn college credit. Originally a member of my university's honors program and probably expected to go into an area like law, I went into literature, film, and media studies instead, and never looked back. I'm fascinated by how our relationships with media inform and interact with our society's values and our own individual identities, some themes I've had the privilege to explore as a columnist at ASU's newspaper, The State Press. I'm a big defender of how important it is to study media and pop culture as barometers for society.

Kerry is a junior at the University of Tennessee who divides her time between doing stuff just for the story and trying to make the world a better place by laughing at bad jokes. She thinks that Thom Yorke's purpose in life is to accurately construct the soundtrack for her life's adventure, and she can't stand people who like nuts in their brownies. Writing is her favorite thing to do, but procrastinating comes in at a very close second.

Use your discretion to decide if you think I know what I'm talking about - it's a tossup with me. Send me funny things.
I'm a senior at Boston University, studying English and Philosophy. I'm originally from New York and I hope to move back there at some point, but right now it's a matter of where I decide to go to grad school. Something that is interesting about me is that I love books as much as I love reality TV. I'm even more of an enigma when it comes to musical tastes. I love everything from, classical music, to Notorious B.I.G., Miles Davis to the Black Keys to John Mayer. But it's these seeming inconstancies that make my writing entertaining. Not many people can draw parallels between Family Guy and Immanuel Kant, but that's what I love to do, and it makes for some very hysterical writing.
I am a junior at Champlain College. I am originally from Rhode Island, and still frequent there in the summer. I'm small, a little clumsy, but with good intentions.

Or, you could learn from Tom and see the world in an exceptional clarity and learn to absorb it with the acculturative prowess of a true Sensei.
