The Top 10 Halloween Movies From Your Childhood You Probably Forgot About
You could watch movies throughout the entire month of October and not even come close to watching all the Halloween movies out there. You may have a favorite Halloween movie or just love horror films, but what about those movies you used to love when you were younger? Here is a list of the top ten Halloween movies that you have (probably) forgot about.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Christmas or Halloween movie? That’s what I always wondered when I was younger. But either way you really can’t beat a Tim Burton Halloween movie. This movie started off as a poem by Tim Burton and made its way into a film. There is just about everything from romance to betrayal in this movie. Just about everyone knows the faces of Jack Skellington and Sally, and this movie does not disappoint those looking to reconnect with their childhood.

Halloweentown
Disney has made three more Halloween movies in this series, but none of them come close to the original. Who wouldn’t want to live in a town where it is Halloween all the time? Just imagine a place where it is socially acceptable to eat candy all the time and where monsters really do exist. If it was not for the villain trying to destroy the world, it would be pretty perfect.

Hocus Pocus
What is not to love about a Halloween movie with witches, zombies, and talking cats? Salem has always been known for its witches and the Sanderson Sisters are unlike any witches from history past. With a cast like Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy you know you are in store for some laughs. And if you have ABC Family, they are playing it this year on Halloween.

Tower of Terror
This is one of the few attempts Disney took at making a “horror” film, but even though it may not be scary for you now, you know it was when you were younger. Falling eleven stories down on an elevator is definitely not how anyone would want to start their trip, (unless you’re on the Tower of Terror ride) especially at a haunted hotel. But who wouldn’t want to help some ghosts who can’t cross over?

Under Wraps
Imagine spending your Halloween with a mummy that you accidentally reanimated. I think that would definitely be on the top of this list for best Halloween ever, especially if the mummy is just a friendly klutz who wants to be reunited with his fellow dead wife. And your roommate doesn’t like it when you have friends over; just imagine how they would react to a 3000 year old mummy.

Edward Scissorhands
With scissors for hands and a scarred face he looks like a monster, but Edward is uncommonly gentle and tries to get the love he deserves. It’s just kind of hard when people are afraid of you, but Edward tries to make it work especially when there is the love of a girl involved. And you can never go wrong with a Johnny Depp movie.

Beetlejuice
Clearly I have a thing for Tim Burton films. I guess he just knows how to make some really good Halloween movies. This is definitely a new twist on an after-life, full of recently deceased ghosts and a “bio-exorcist.” With actors like Michael Keaton and Alec Baldwin, you are certainly going to be in for some really good laughs.

Don’t Look Under the Bed
This is another of Disney’s attempts at making a child-friendly horror film. Did you ever have an imaginary friend growing up that you ignored? Well if I was you, I wouldn’t look under my bed. But who hasn’t thought about a swimming pool full of Jell-O or egging your teacher’s car? This Boogeyman may not be frightening like a real horror film, but it is scary in its own way.

The Addams Family
If you thought you had a strange family, think again. The Addams are an eccentric family that borders on homicidal. Just imagine having a giant for a butler, a witch for a grandma, and a hand called “thing” that helps around the house. Morticia Addams is defiantly one of my favorite roles played by Anjelica Huston, with her in Witches as a close second.

Casper
Who wouldn’t want to live in a house with a friendly ghost who likes adventure and can cook? The problem is the three mischievous ghosts who like to scare away humans. But just imagine how awesome your Halloween party would be if you had some real ghosts as entertainment. It is defiantly a good Halloween movie that you have to see if you haven’t in a while.
